Account Manager – Utilities for Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Northern Illinois

Your opportunity
We seek a dynamic and motivated individual to sell our advanced metering and software solutions to the utility industry. You will support the Senior Account Manager for the territory in developing, cultivating, and maintaining utility prospects and customers within a defined territory.
You will help develop and manage a sales pipeline mix of both high-value and transactional accounts, while executing sales strategies to secure deals that will exceed strategic sales goals. You will help identify and establish relationships within key prospective accounts while nurturing and growing existing customer relationships.

Responsibilities
- Be a point of contact for utility companies through the entire sales process and customer lifecycle
- Identify and develop opportunities in new accounts
- Advance prospects through the sales pipeline
- Maintain success and satisfaction for existing customers by positioning USS professional services, expanding use cases, cross-selling additional USS products, and reaching more senior levels within the organization
- Track and analyze sales pipeline metrics to drive continuous improvement
- Clearly communicate USS product competitive differentiators, use cases, features and benefits, process fit, value propositions, pricing quotation, proposals, and bids
- Communicate to the internal team any product functionality or marketing gaps
- Engage USS Professional Services, Product Management, and Executive teams, as appropriate
- Secure renewals
- Achieve and exceed sales goals
- Represent USS at industry conferences and events
- Live within 1-2 hours of the Minneapolis area (or be willing to relocate to the area) and provide a home office for territory administrative tasks
Pay range and benefits
- Base salary plus commission/bonus, with an expected annual pay range of $90,000+
- Paid PTO, sick time, holidays, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401(k) with employer matching, and Health Savings Account
- You will be provided with a company vehicle, laptop computer, office peripherals (including printer and mobile phone), and reimbursed for home office Internet service
Qualifications
- 1+ years successfully selling solutions and products to business accounts, ideally utilities (actual utility or municipal experience may be substituted)
- Experience managing accounts for retention and growth
- Track record of developing new accounts
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Superior organizational skills and ability to multitask across many concurrent opportunities
- Passion for automation and process transformation
- Experience in the utility industry is a huge plus
- BA/BS degree preferred or equivalent experience
