Employee Spotlight: Brad Dyer
Brad Dyer joined United Systems in 2024 as a Senior Full Stack Developer working on Utility Process Management software.
Brad has worked in software for over 15 years in various industries including consumer electronics, healthcare, and consulting. He’s excited to be diving in to the world of utilities and serving municipalities of all sizes.
And, no, Brad was not paid for these perfect answers to our questions; this is exactly how he answered them!
Brad, what do you like about your job at United Systems?
The team here is incredible. They are very collaborative, constantly seeking the best solutions to problems they are solving, and super focused on quality. New ideas and approaches are always welcome, which makes it exciting to come to work each day.
It’s been great to jump in work with the software and to learn about this complex industry.
What do you like most about working at United Systems?
United Systems has created a great environment to work in. Everything from the physical office space to the company culture seems to have been built to facilitate the team to do their best work.
In my experience, everyone has been super supportive and helpful, which makes it easy for someone new to the industry learn and contribute.
Brad has a busy life and a full household. He lives with his wife, three kids, two dogs, two cats, and a fish. Needless to say, everyone but the fish and one of the cats (not Steve… he’s lazy) keep him occupied with band, dance, and a ton of other activities he loves taking in.
The animals aren’t in band and dance, mind you.
Also, when Brad’s not programming or running around with the family, he tries to polish up his musical skills with various guitars, mandolin, and violin.
He often sneaks out the violin when the rest of his family is out. The pets don’t seem mind as much when he plays out of tune, which admits will happen “on occasion.”
We’re very grateful for Brad’s positive attitude and the years of experience he brings to United Systems! However, we’re a bit bummed out that he hasn’t serenaded us with a violin concerto yet!
