Employee Spotlight: Jacob Puckett
Jacob Puckett joined United Systems in 2018 as a Business Development Manager for our Managed IT division and later served as vCIO for that same division.
Now, Jacob works in our Software Support team as a UPM Customer Manager, ensuring our customers get the most out of our flagship product and are set up for continued success.
Jacob, what do you like about your job at United Systems?
Working directly with our UPM customers, many of whom have become more than just clients, but friends. During our meetings, we’ll review current progress and metrics, but there’s always time to catch up on kids, families, pets, etc.
Even though we’re all busy with to-dos and the daily grind, it’s refreshing to work with people I can be candid with and get to know on a personal level. Building those relationships is one of the best parts of what I do.
What do you like most about working at United Systems?
I appreciate the flexibility of my role and the variety it brings. While my job might appear cut-and-dry from the outside, it’s anything but.
Some days I’m in the office, diving into data analytics or connecting with customers by phone or email. Other days I’m on the road meeting with clients face-to-face, and I may finish the week working from home.
I also value the opportunities I’ve had to grow with the company, from business development to my current role as a UPM Customer Manager. It’s been rewarding to evolve and grow alongside United Systems.
Jacob knows just about everyone in the community United Systems calls home. He’s a past president of the local Rotary Club, an organization dedicated to supporting youth in the community, and is currently serving his second term as Assistant District Governor for all Western Kentucky Rotary Clubs. He was also nominated and commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel by Governor Andy Beshear.
He jokes that he’s “married to a drug dealer” (a pharmacist, but it’s funny the first time at least). He and his wife, Krissi, have two children, Katelyn and Colin, as well as Roscoe the Chihuahua.
Jacob used to have hobbies before travel sports took over. Their kids’ baseball, basketball, soccer, and football teams take them all over the country. But he doesn’t complain too much when he gets to travel internationally, like the most recent trip with the US National Futsal team to Costa Rica.
In the rare times he’s not on a court or field with the kids, you might catch him planning a trip or traveling with friends… anywhere they can find an excuse to go.
Jacob’s broad experience and natural ability to connect with others make him an excellent UPM Customer Manager. He brings a steady, candid approach to every customer interaction, which is why they often see him as a partner rather than a point of contact. Working with Jacob usually means clearer decisions, faster progress, and fewer surprises.
