Jonathon Janes joined United Systems in 2024 and serves as our Office Manager, replacing Sandy Thomas, who spent almost 15 years in the role!

Utilities is a new industry for Jonathon, as he worked for seven years as Controller for Mayfield Consumer Products (MCP) prior to joining our staff. He managed the day-to-day financial obligations of the MCP manufacturing plant, which included overseeing the costing of new products, accounts payables and receivables, and over 300,000 square feet of inventory.

Jonathon, what do you like about your job at United Systems?

I’ve really enjoyed learning about a new industry. It’s been eye-opening to see all the hard work it takes to develop, maintain, support, and sell software.

What do you like the most about working at United Systems?

The USS culture. In the first few days of working at USS, I could tell that management had developed a supportive team atmosphere that work together to accomplish set goals and objectives. The friendliness and support of coworkers has made the transition so easy. 

Fun fact: Jonathon runs a charity that teaches kids in the community how to lift weights. The charity specializes on those that don’t excel in traditional sports so they can still grow up with the understanding of how important physical fitness is to our mental and physical health.

Another fun fact: Jonathon’s daughter runs her own made-from-scratch cookie business (and they’re amazing)! This makes it very difficult for him to stick to his meal plan — well, that and Food Truck Tuesdays every April through October at our offices!

And one of his biggest goals is to watch a football game in every NFL stadium. As of this post, he’s been to 6 (or 7 if you count St. Louis…too soon?) with 25 to go!

We appreciate Jonathon’s smiling face and what he does for the youth in his community. And while we’re happy to have him as a part of our team, he’s on his own trying to stick to that strict meal plan!
