Customer Success Manager

United Systems & Software seeks a customer-focused professional who enjoys building strong relationships and helping organizations get real value from the technology they use every day.

As a Customer Success Manager, you’ll play a key role in helping those customers succeed.

This role blends relationship management, project coordination, and problem-solving. You’ll work closely with customers and internal teams to keep initiatives moving forward, translate needs into action, and ensure a smooth experience throughout the customer lifecycle.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Provide project leadership across customer initiatives, helping coordinate timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables
  • Schedule and lead onsite and remote meetings with customers, internal teams, and partners
  • Create, maintain, and communicate project plans to keep work organized and expectations clear
  • Identify challenges, assess root causes, and propose practical solutions aligned with customer goals
  • Act as an advocate for the customer by translating feedback and priorities into actionable insights for Product and Development teams
  • Conduct post-project and post-ticket evaluations to improve processes and outcomes
  • Support customer transitions from completed projects into ongoing support
  • Manage multiple initiatives at once while keeping projects aligned with product schedules and customer needs

Customer Communication & Relationship Management

  • Communicate clearly and consistently with customers and prospects
  • Understand customer goals, needs, and expectations and help align solutions accordingly
  • Communicate technical concepts to customers so they can easily understand
  • Evaluate customer processes and recommend solutions for process improvement
  • Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, from entry-level staff to executive leadership
  • Conduct customer reviews, check-ins, and presentations focused on performance and outcomes
  • Prepare and share reports on project status, key activities, and next steps

Business Analysis & Problem Solving

  • Review operational data and utilization metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Analyze processes, goals, and progress to surface insights and recommendations
  • Suggest benchmarks and practical tactics for improvement
  • Balance big picture thinking with attention to detail
  • Resolve customer issues in a timely and thoughtful manner
  • Help drive product initiatives forward by sharing real-world customer insights

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Comfort managing multiple customers, priorities, and competing deadlines
  • A thoughtful, analytical approach to problem-solving
  • Interest in understanding customer operations and how technology supports them
  • Ability to work with data, identify patterns, and communicate insights
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable
  • Comfortable working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders

Experience & Background

  • A four-year degree or equivalent experience in project management, business analysis, or account management
  • Experience working with utilities or local government is a plus
  • Familiarity with gas, water, or electric utility operations is helpful, but not required

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel, including overnight stays, to support customer meetings and projects
