Support / Implementation Specialist – Emphasis in Governmental & Fund Accounting

United Systems & Software seeks a service-minded professional who enjoys working with customers and has an interest in how financial systems support utilities and local government.

We are a technology company providing software and hardware solutions to utilities and municipalities. Our systems support the day-to-day operations and financial processes that help public organizations serve their communities effectively and responsibly.

As a Support / Implementation Specialist, you will help customers implement and utilize systems that manage billing, accounting, and financial operations. You don’t need to be a CPA, but you should be curious about how public-sector financial processes work and comfortable learning the nuances that come with them.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide customer support across United Systems’ products and services, including systems related to financial and accounting operations
• Train and educate utility and local government customers on system functionality, workflows, and best practices to help them work more efficiently and confidently
• Manage the implementation of General Ledger and related financial modules such as Accounts Payable and Payroll
• Support customers in setting up charts of accounts, funds, and related financial structures appropriate for utility and government environments
• Work with customers, internal teams, and third-party partners to help projects stay organized and on track
• Assist with go-live activities and customer transitions following implementation
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, documentation, and customer experience
• Collaborate with internal teams to help improve products based on customer needs and feedback

• Technically comfortable: You’re confident using Windows and Microsoft 365; a basic familiarity with SQL is a plus
• Curious and adaptable: You enjoy learning new systems and helping others learn them, too
• Team-oriented: You thrive on collaborating with customers and team members alike

Experience & Background

• A college degree or equivalent experience is preferred
• Experience or coursework related to accounting, finance, public administration, or utilities is a plus
• Familiarity with governmental or fund accounting concepts is very helpful, but not required

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to travel, including overnight stays, to support customer meetings and projects
