Gallatin County Water District (KY)

We’ve been a United Systems Network Services customer for 5 years and have always been delighted with the service. Upon seeing the benefit of their Security+ program, I urged our board to sign the quote.

United Systems arrived on site the next week to address any security architecture concerns. They replaced the wall cabinet and firewall, managed switches, added continuous vulnerability scanning and penetration testing for both internal and external networks, and established annual cybersecurity awareness training. After completing these processes, I was handed a Security+ binder with a cybersecurity scorecard, cyber assessment, operational plan, and the top 10 CIS control policies specific to our business.

In January, our state auditor showed up. I gave her team the Security+ binder, and she said, “I only have one question: what company put this binder together for you?” Needless to say, we are thrilled with the job United Systems does for us!

Town of Halls (TN)

Adopting UPM has made a world of positive difference in my ability to focus on other job duties. With only two of us in the office, we are generally extremely busy. Having to stop and take a payment, which frankly can easily be done by the customer, takes up valuable time to complete other projects.

We have encouraged all our customers to use the multiple payment options readily available to them, and it seems we are finally getting a positive reaction! We are thankful for all the options provided to our city, thus making the customer’s bill pay options much more efficient and easier.

I would encourage other utilities to take advantage of all the options made available to them, as this has been a game-changer for our town!

City of Burgin (KY)

With our previous AMR system reaching end of life, CUD began an evaluation of available technologies. The original system was an endpoint and meter from the same manufacturer. This left fewer options from a metering and technology standpoint. With other issues such as staffing, a vast service area (over an hour of travel time from one end of our system to the other), and traffic congestion, we knew a traditional AMI network would not work. The cellular solution offered by Itron checked all the boxes.

With Itron cellular AMI in place, supporting the customer without providing truck rolls is a huge benefit. Also, the Itron solution didn’t require a complete meter lid changeout. We have been able to keep our metallic lids for the most part and still achieve a read rate of almost 99%! We were pleased with the cost of the Itron solution, and having United Systems Support was key. Unlike other vendors, their communication is top-notch. Our calls get answered, and they’re always willing to help. We highly recommend USS.
